NIKKO PANELLA SCORES TWICE IN SUMMER SIZZLER FINALE AT DELTA
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (June 21, 2026) – 2025 defending champion Nikko Panella improved upon a pair of second place finishes in Friday’s Summer Sizzler at Delta Speedway by parking it in victory lane twice on Saturday night, winning both the winged Super 600 and Non-Wing features. Five divisions of Micro Sprint action took on the 1/7th mile dirt track at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds for two complete days of action. Photo by Denise Dell Photography
The Non-Wing feature was a look into the future of dirt racing with young Friday winner Brody Rubio of Manteca giving a valiant challenge to Panella through the first six laps of Saturday’s event. Panella tried to pass Rubio on several early race restarts. Panella finally completed a pass on Rubio on lap six on the bottom of the speedway and never relinquished the lead from there. Rubio finished second while Keith Bloom, Jr. overcame an adventurous Friday to night to finish third on Saturday. TK O’Brien and fast-time qualifier Ty Carlson rounded out the top-five. Panella and O’Brien split the heat races.
Panella left zero doubt of his winning intentions in the Super 600 class, leading the final 24 laps for the win. Ceil Howe started on the pole and finished second followed by Owen Larson, Alex Panella, and Raio Salmon. Friday winner Logan Trevino of Madera topped qualifying. Nikko Panella won the heat race.
Jeffrey Pahule of Brentwood jumped into the growing stock A-Class action and promptly won the 25-lap feature. Jace Thurein of Arizona was second with O’Brien, Wade Boertje, and Colin Kirby rounding out the top-five. O’Brien was the fastest qualifier for the 22 entries. OBrien, Boertje, and Thurein won the 10-lap heat races.
Wade Boertje’s younger brother Miles was victorious in the 25-lap Restricted action, which again led the pits with 29 cars on hand. Boertje was the fastest qualifier of the night. Jace Meyers, Mackcen Roush, and Jaxson Evett scored in heat race competition. Bryson Sozinho won the 12-lap B-Feature to qualify for the main event.
Boertje led wire-to-wire over Tyce Domingos, Macken Roush, Evett, and Briggs Davis.
Racing families had success across the night with Huxcen Roush winning in the Jr. Sprint main event. The Riverdale driver won the 20-lap feature over Jayden Carey of Ripon, Lucas Fenn, Ryder Tardiff, and Santino Gonella. Lucas Fenn and Audrey Larson won the heat races.
Delta Speedway races again on July 25th for points race no. 6
