CAMERON PAUL WINS DURING CALIFORNIA SPEEDWEEK ROUND THREE AT PLAZA PARK

VISALIA, Calif. (July 3, 2025) – A Thursday night full of thrilling moments for the Hoosier Tire California Speedweek was highlighted by a familiar winner, as Springville’s Cameron Paul duplicated his 2024 performances by winning the Non-Wing feature at Visalia’s Plaza Park Raceway. Round three of the four Speedweek presented fans with a drama-filled night of Micro Sprint races on the dirt.
Tucson, Ariz.’s Quinn Thurein built up a strong lead at the start of the 30-lap Non-Wing feature. Paul and 2025 opening night feature winner Jeffrey Pahule of Brentwood engaged in a furious battle for second which benefitted Thurein’s advantage. A caution on lap 16 erased a 2.7 second lead for Thurein. KJ Snow advanced past Pahule into third on the restart. Snow then engaged with Paul for second. Thurein’s bid for a carved bear trophy ended when he flipped in turn three on lap 18.
Paul took the lead and never relinquished it. Pahule won a battle with Snow for second. Mattix Salmon of Fresno and fast-time qualifier Jett Yantis of Bakersfield rounded out the top-five. Fresno’s TJ Smith and Snow won the heat races.
Briggs Davis of Manteca won his first career Hoosier Tire California Speedweek feature by snaring the 25-lap event for the Restricted division. The Restricted race featured numerous incidents and lead changes with multiple contenders for the top spot. El Cajon’s Cole Bezio and Tulare’s Braxon Vasconcellos entered the evening tied in the standings. The two young drivers showed how equally matched they are in 2025. Bezio and Vasconellos staged a tremendous battle for the lead over the first half of the race, trading the position multiple times with several crossovers.
Fast-time qualifier Tyce Domingos then challenged Bezio for second on the outside but the pair banged wheels, sending Domingos flipping. Bezio was relegated to restarting at the rear of the field. Ilinois driver Braxton Flatt then challenged Vasconcellos for the lead. The pair spun in turn three, bringing out a caution flag and sending both drivers to the tail of the pack with just five laps to go.
Briggs Davis took command of the race as a result and grabbed victory. Jace Meyers of Fresno finished second. Arizona’s Nixen Gabbard, Rowdy Medina of Winchester, and a resurgent Bezio were the balance of the top-five. Medina and Bezio won the heat races.
Montana’s Cole Schroeder won his second consecutive Super 600 feature, claiming $1,000 in the 30-lap nightcap. Bakersfield’s Jett Yantis accumulated a sizeable lead which narrowed in lap traffic with KJ Snow in pursuit. Snow then biked hard on the cushion in turn three, bringing out the caution on lap 15. Schroeder used the inside to drive underneath Yantis. After a brief battle, Schroeder had the top spot in hand on lap 19. Schroder led Yantis, Fresno’s Colton Key, Arizona’s Austin Torgerson, and 11th-starting Dalton Parreira of Hanford at the finish. Key was the top qualifier while Washington’s Dominic Carter and Maverick Myrick of Tulare were the heat race winners.
Dalton Parreira earned the win in the 25-lap feature for the stock A-Class, topping the points leader Jett Yantis for the coveted bear trophy. Cash Lovenburg of Visalia was third followed by Arizona’s Jace Thurein and Maverick Myrick of Tulare. Yantis topped qualifying action to go with his runner-up finish, placing himself into a strong position to win the A-Class championship in 2025. Yantis has earned podium finishes in seven of his nine starts this week during a triple-duty effort. Thurein, Parreira, and 2024 Restricted champion Blayden Graham of Bakersfield prevailed in the 10-lap heat races.
Lee Uzzell won his second consecutive Hoosier Tire California Speedweek feature for Jr. Sprints, with the Hanford driver dominating the 20-lap feature. Uzzell earned a clean sweep by leading time trials and winning the heat race as well. Logan LaVarnway of Lemoore finished second ahead of Nixon Soiland of Suisun City, Huxcen Roush of Riverdale, and Arizona’s Micah Porter.
Championships and the coveted big bear trophies will be awarded during the final night of the Hoosier Tire California Speedweek, racing into Stockton’s Delta Speedway on Saturday night July 5th. The event concludes the four races of action across five nights for the Micro Sprint series.
