Specific race dates will be announced later in the year as the individual track schedules are developed. The stock production Midget series makes its Antioch Speedway debut this Saturday.

“I am extremely pleased to be able to make this announcement,” WMR owner Mike McCluney said. “John Prentice at Ocean Speedway gave us the opportunity to develop WMR in Northern California and we think we’re now ready to expand our schedule to include more Saturday races in the region. Petaluma Speedway, Antioch Speedway, and Marysville Speedway are high quality venues with excellent management, located in market areas that work well for our expansion,” he continued. “We are very excited about the partnerships with these tracks and the further expansion of west coast midget racing.”

Long time midget supporter and Petaluma Speedway Promoter Rick Faeth is pleased to be partnering for a third season in 2022 with the rapidly growing WMR.  “I feel that what Mike McCluney has done with the Western Midget Racing Series is finally addressing the decades old issue of the escalation of National midget motor costs.  By utilizing a stock block automotive engine package that provides durability and enough performance, I believe this is the future of regional midget racing and I will continue to provide my support to the series,” Faeth said.
