CALIFORNIA SPEEDWEEK HITS THE TRACK TUESDAY AT DIXON

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (June 25, 2018) – Over 120 racers from across the world are descending on California, with the 4th annual California Speedweek for Micro Sprints beginning Tuesday from Dixon Speedway.  The field of 121 entries covers 12 states plus Australia and Canada, ready to battle for four races in five days for a $54,000 purse.

Many of the out of state competitors began their trip to California last weekend at Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park in Visalia, including Washington’s Colby Thornhill and Arizona’s Colton Hardy among the feature winners.  Australia’s Liam Williams was another entrant who came to California early to prepare in his Pace Chassis.

The drivers are eying the $1000 to win features all four nights along with an $18,000 points fund and the coveted carved wooden bear trophies.  The prizes don’t end there, with over $10,000 in contingency prizes also up for grabs.

Dixon Speedway opens the week with competition on Tuesday with pit gates opening at noon.  Drivers meetings are at 3:30 pm with hot laps and qualifying to follow.  The running order sees Non Wing, Restricted, and Super 600.  Qualifying will be two cars at a time, and feature lineups are set by a combination of qualifying, heat race, and heat race passing points.  The top 16 in points lock into the feature while the remaining cars are set through a pair of B Mains.

Delta Speedway presented by Financial Center Credit Union hosts the series on Wednesday.  Thursday is an off day as teams travel south.  Friday night will be the visit to Visalia with Lemoore Raceway again hosting the championship races on Saturday night.

Current entry lists show 37 Non Wing, 40 Restricted, and 44 Super 600 set to compete along with additional “night of” entries expected all four nights.  The Restricted field is its largest in series history and its prize package is one of the most lucrative in the nation.

Race fans who can not attend the California Speedweek in person can view the action through streaming partner Fast Four Media.  Fast Four Media will not live stream the Dixon event due to a low quality connection, but instead offer it later in the week as a free on-demand stream.  The remaining three nights will be offered for $20 per night or $55 for the week long package. Bullet Impressions will have event merchandise available all week as well.
