21 DAYS TO GO UNTIL CA SPEEDWEEK BEGINS AT DIXON
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (June 5, 2018) – The 2018 California Speedweek is just three weeks away from firing off, with the series set to open Tuesday June 26th at Dixon Speedweek. Many stand-out drivers from all walks of racing have joined the ever growing entry list, comprised of 118 entrants from 11 different states, Australia, and Canada.
Hanford’s Michael Faccinto, the inaugural Super 600 Speedweek champion, will return to his Micro Sprint roots aboard a CS9 Chassis for Christopher Thornhill out of Enumclaw, Washington. Faccinto recently piloted a CS9 Chassis to a Super 600 weekend sweep of the King of California rounds five and six at Dixon and Delta Speedways. The BCRA and USAC Midget veteran will hope to parlay that momentum back into Micros. He ranks sixth all-time on the Speedweek winnings list with $6,800 won.
San Rafael’s Frankie Guerrini is another veteran Midget racer who has entered to drive a #12M Non Wing for McGourty Motorsports. Ryan Delisle, the 2011 Delta Speedway Jr. Sprint champion, has thrown his name into the Super 600 ring as well.
The event is capped at 50 Super 600, 40 Restricted, and 40 Non Wing, with a total of 12 of those positions still up for grabs at www.CASpeedweek.com Published purses of $54,000 have been announced, pending full entry, including $1000 to win each of the 12 main events that will be contested.
Racing will kick off on June 26th at Dixon Speedway before traveling to Stockton’s Delta Speedway presented by FCCU on the 27th. The 28th serves as a travel day before racing concludes Friday at Visalia’s Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park and Saturday at Lemoore Raceway.
26 Promotions and Hoosier Tire are some of the latest partners for the California Speedweek. 26 Promotions was founded by Darren and Jessica Ward, a husband and wife duo dedicated to bringing affordable Public Relations and Media Management to motorsports. 26 Promotions has the tools and knowledge to help teams, drivers, series, or businesses gain the exposure needed.
Hoosier Tire will offer 20 free tire certificates throughout the event. Their contingency sponsorship has pushed the total contingency value for Speedweek above $10,000 with over 100 different awards available.
