OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN REOPENS SUPER MODIFIED ENTRIES AHEAD OF LARRY TRIGUEIRO MEMORIAL THIS NOVEMBER
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 10, 2026) – With recent scheduling changes in the Super Modified season, promoter Davey Hamilton, Jr. and officials from the OnlyBulls Open Wheel Showdown have re-opened registration for the Super Modified portion of the pavement racing showcase. The 2nd Annual Larry Trigueiro Memorial had already reached its 35 car limit, serving as the largest Super Modified event in North America. Open Wheel Showdown Super Modifieds race for $10,000 to win and $1,200 to start on November 5-7. The rules package invites East Coast Supers to take on the best in the West.
New Yorkers Dave Danzer and Otto Sitterly won the first two editions before Indiana’s Kevin Newton prevailed in 2025.
Host hotel reservations are available through the Southpoint Hotel & Casino. A kick-off gala will be held Wednesday night, November 4, at the Southpoint to open the Open Wheel Showdown week in Las Vegas.
Speed Sport returns as the media partner with live coverage of the race on both Speed Sport 1 and Speed Sport 2, with a full broadcast schedule to be announced.
Thursday is the optional practice day racing action heats up on November 6 and 7.
