PETERSON, SALAZAR, STEINKE AMONG WINNERS DURING NEVADA RACING HEROES NIGHT AT THE BULLRING

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (May 3, 2026) – Jeffrey Peterson of Grand Terrace, Calif. swept Saturday’s NASCAR Star Nursery Late Model Twin 38s in honor of Scott Gafforini, headlining the Nevada Racing Heroes night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. New Mexico’s Sean Salazar and Austin Steinke split the Twin 23 INEX Terrible’s Legends features as well, in honor of Spencer Clark. Photo by Barry Ambrose

Peterson overhauled 2025 champion Cody Brown en route to the first 38-lap feature win. The second feature saw Peterson overcome the inversion to chase down Utah’s Kylie Ith before successfully taking control of the race. The wins lift Peterson to ten-for-ten on the season with a strong number of points accumulated for the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Western Region standings, with pays $15,000 to the overall champion.

2026 Bullring points leader Sean Salazar kicked off the special night with the first checkered flag of the evening when he won a drag race to the line over Austin Steinke in the Terrible’s Legends. The victory was Salazar’s first Saturday win of the season despite leading the points. Steinke then fired back in the second feature for his first career INEX Legends victory at the Bullring.

Bountiful, Utah’s Eric Rhead withstood challenges from both Sam and Kyle Jacks to take the NASCAR Modified feature win, his first of the season. Sam Jacks was second followed by Kyle Jacks, Kayli Peterson, and Brody Whitbeck.

Kyle Jacks did capture a checkered flag, however, leading the NASCAR Street Stocks to take sole possession of the points lead. Championship challenger Dan Geary finished second followed by Kyle Turner. Bobby Schumacher was the top finishing Factory Stock followed by Rob Pfaffly.

Glendora, Calif.’s Bory Molina won his second consecutive NASCAR Mini Stock feature, again being chased by points leader Ben Williams as the duo darted in and out of lapped traffic. Bobby Ozman finished third after 25-laps of action ahead of Austin Tognotti and Melissa Lurkins.

The INEX Bandoleros were split across two features with California’s Braxton Garcia going back-to-back in the 15-lap feature ahead of Malcom Mancias and points leader Dylan Mancini. The second group feature was won by an exuberant Hayden Piplic followed by Audrey Cheadle and Teagan Albright.

The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway races again on June 6 for a very special Military and First Responders Night with free tickets for both them and their guests from participating agencies.
