JEFFREY PETERSON REMAINS PERFECT IN LAS VEGAS WITH NASCAR LATE MODEL SWEEP

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (March 8, 2026) – The outstanding start to the 2026 season for Grand Terrace, Calif.’s Jeffrey Peterson continued Saturday night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, netting another NASCAR Star Nursery Late Model twin feature sweep. Photo by Christopher Vargas

Saturday’s action was part of Women in Racing Night, showcasing female racers from across the west coast during opening ceremonies to celebrate Women’s History Month on the eve of International Women’s Day. Nearly two-dozen females were honored at opening ceremonies before seven main events hit the .375-mile paved Bullring for NASCAR Grassroots action.

Peterson led the first 40-lap jaunt from the pole position for a wire-to-wire triumph with 2025 champion Cody Brown finding himself in a familiar runner-up position. Loomis, Calif.’s Kenna Mitchell finished third

The second twin was inverted per NASCAR procedures and gave Utah’s Kylie Ith a chance to pace the action. Ith maintained the lead for 16 circuits while Peterson knifed underneath the field to advance from sixth on the grid. Peterson eventually ran down Ith and took a decisive pass for the lead on the 17thh circuit. Peterson led the rest of the way with Brown settling for second. Scott Youngren outfoxed Mitchell in the race for third with Nash Youngren rounding out the top-five.

The Jacks brothers family feud resumed in the NASCAR Modifieds. Sam Jacks prevailed, winning his second consecutive 40-lap affair. Doug Hamm finished third. Eric Rhead of Bountiful, Utah climbed into a borrowed car followed a hard crash in Friday practice. Rhead recovered to finish fourth while Idaho’s Shelby Stroebel ran fifth.

Californian Braxton Garcia swept the twin 15-lap features for the INEX Terrible’s Bandoleros. Garcia dove inside Austin French on the final circuit in the opening twin, narrowly taking the lead in turns three and four coming to the checkered flag.

Malcom Nacias and Dylan Mancini were scored second and third in each feature. Jeff Connors and Casey Piplic rounded out the top-five in the first twin.

Garcia then led all 15-circuits in the second twin as well for a big two-win evening Piplic and Beau Paddack finished fourth and fifth in the second twin.

Melissa Lurkins earned a popular victory for the female fans on Women in Racing Night, prevailing in the NASCAR Mini Stocks. Lurkins fended off Southern California’s Bory Molina who finished second once again in four-cylinder action. The multi-time Pahrump, Nevada dirt champion Lurkins stood tall over Molina, Mike McIntyre, Irwindale champion Bobby Ozman, and opening night winner Ben Williams.

INEX Terrible’s Legends featured perhaps the most exciting duel for the win with Daniel O’Donnell making the right moves when it mattered most for the 30-lap feature win.

O’Donnell started on the pole but was shuffled back to fourth early in the event. Connor Podloski and O’Donnell then tangled in turn one on lap 12, relegating both drivers to the rear of the pack.

New Mexico’s Sean Salazar paced the field while O’Donnell rushed through the pack with a series of restarts aiding his comeback. Heading into turn one on the final circuit, O’Donnell applied the bumper to edge underneath Salazar and take the victory. Tanner Ash finished third followed by Andy Hulcy and Brody Glaze. ‘

The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway resumes on March 28 with the Terrible’s Showdown featuring the CARS Tour West Pro and Limited Late Models plus the full slate of LVMS championship divisions competing.
