JEFFREY PETERSON MOVES INTO NASCAR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HUNT WITH DOMINANT WINS AT THE BULLRING

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (June 7, 2026) – Grand Terrace’s Jeffrey Peterson picked up his biggest wins of the 2026 NASCAR Local Racing Series season on Saturday night, dominating the Military and First Responders Night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Star Nursery Late Models. The victories lift Peterson to eight for eight in the NASCAR sanctioned events in Vegas, along with two SPEARS CARS Tour West wins for a perfect 10-0 season. Photo by Barry Ambrose

“This car man. It drives itself. I’m nowhere near that good. Clay Wooster and Linny White bring me a rocket ship every week,” Peterson said. “Made a couple small tweaks between the first and second race. Glad it worked out. Hope all you fans had fun. Tonight is about remembering all of our veterans, Kyle Busch, his whole family, just a night of remembrance.”

2025 champion Cody Brown of Las Vegas led the qualifying proceedings on the .375-mile oval over 15 entries. The Late Models raced in twin 51-lap features in honor of NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, who started his racing career at The Bullring. Peterson overhauled Brown by lap five and never relinquished the top spot. Brown finished second while Kenan Mitchell – a six-time 2026 NASCAR Late Model winner in Northern California – ran third. Donald Witkowski and Paul Jordain rounded out the top-five.

Peterson rolled off from the outside of the fourth row for the second 51-lap affair, making three and four-wide maneuvers to dart to fourth by lap four. Peterson passed Mitchell on lap 10 for third and marched into the lead by lap 15. Brown ran as high as fifth then backpedaled, eventually falling out of the non-stop race on lap 37 in a hit for his championship aspirations with one weekend of racing left to go.

The checkered flag flew over the blue No. 51 of Jeffrey Peterson for a dominant victory, with a 5.3 second advantage over Mitchell in the finish. Christian Bazen was third followed by Witkowski and Chris Jackson.

Sam Jacks led all 30-laps for the NASCAR Modifieds victory. Utah’s Eric Rhead finished second followed by Doug Hamm, Kaylie Peterson, and Damien Harrison.

The NASCAR Street Stock event was also a Jacks affair with Kyle Jacks prevailing after 25-laps of racing. Jacks topped Don Geary by over three seconds at the stripe followed by Bill Paddack, Jr., Kyle Turner, and Donna Gunther. Bobby Schmuacher topped the Factory Stocks as well.

Bory Molina of Glendora, Calif. was another Southern California victor over the weekend, topping the NASCAR Mini Stocks over points leader Ben Williams. Austin Tognotti, Bobby Ozman, and Mike McIntyre were the balance of the top-five after 25-laps of feature racing.

Albuquerque’s Sean Salazar extended his INEX Terrible’s Legends points lead with a sweep of both the Friday and Saturday night features. Spencer Gallagher was second followed by Tanner Ash, Daniel O’Donnell, and Stephen Bazen.

INEX Terrible’s Bandoleros were claimed by Austin French after 15-laps of competition. French held off familiar foe Braxton Garcia of Northern California.

Casey Piplic, Malcom Mancias, and Dylan Mancini finished up the top-five racers. A special 15-lap race for the second group of rookie Bandoleros was won by Aubrey Cheadle.

The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway 2026 regular season concludes on June 20th with the exciting Night of Fire with all divisions crowning their champions. The 2025/26 winter season begins in October.
