SHASTA 125 TRADITION CONTINUES DURING SHASTA SPEEDWAY CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT THIS SATURDAY
ANDERSON, Calif. (October 2, 2025) – The biggest stock car show of the year at Shasta Speedway serves as the 2025 season finale on October 4th with the Shasta 125. Super Late Model racers from all over the west coast take on the .375-mile at the fairgrounds in Anderson for the annual October race. Grandstand seats are just $15 for while kids 12 and under admitted for free. Tickets are available at the front gates at 5pm or online at www.ShastaSpeedway.com Racing begins at 7pm. All kids will receive a raffle ticket at the gate to be entered for the kids bike giveaway as well. Action kicks off Friday with practice activities. On Saturday, pit gates open at 11am
A thrilling victory on September 13th for Oregon’s David Miller moves him within just seven points of Anderson’s Derek Copeland in the Super Late Model standings. Drivers race for $2,000 to win in each of the five rounds in 2025 along with chasing the $10,000 championship prize. Stockton’s Joey Stearns has had a brilliant rookie season at Anderson to run third in the standings. Napa’s Dylan Zampa drove in place of Lane Anderson in round four, nearly pulling off the win before a late race maneuver by Miller. Louie Shaha of Fortuna rounds out the top-five Super Late Model drivers.
Northern California drivers such as Roseville champion Kenna Mitchell, former Altamont champion Ryan Philpott, and former Stockton champion Justin Philpott are among the drivers expected on Saturday night. Washington’s Dan Garber is also expected. The list of winners in the Shasta 125 includes both Steven and Roger Gannon with two wins each. Eric Gannon aims to join the family legacy on Saturday night. Ivan Baldwin, Bill Schmitt, Mike Chase, and Eric Schmidt have also prevailed in previous editions of the event that began in 1975.
Scott MacLeod leads the Bomber points battle by just three points over Cottonwood’s Kyle Borden. Bobby Crowell of Anderson is only five points out of the lead. Carissa MacLeod of Redding and Tim Macleod make up the balance of the top-five drivers.
The Hornets championship fight is also a close one with Travis Root of Anderson enjoying a scant five point lead over Peter Smith of Cottonwood. Colton Stankey is only seven points behind the lead while Hue Moua is only nine points from the top spot. Noah Smith of Redding runs fifth.
11-year-old Deakon Kamisky is the most recent winner in the INEX Legends division when he won his first event on September 13th.
