MAULDIN, PAUL, KEY, DAVIS, AND UZZELL SCORE TURKEY BOWL XXVI WINS AT DELTA
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (October 25, 2025) – Rancho Murieta’s Lucas Mauldin extended the Mauldin family legacy in the Turkey Bowl while four other drivers experienced their first Turkey Bowl triumphs, during Friday’s 26th edition at Delta Speedway in Stockton. Photo by Bob Messer
2025 Non-Wing track champion Nikko Panella won the Knockout race to lead the wingless competitors to green for the 40-lap nightcap, paying $3,000 to win. Panella raced side-by-side with Springville’s Cameron Paul at the start. Paul crossed over Panella on the backstretch on the second lap, sliding past Panella to take the lead. Panella fended off numerous challenges for Austin Torgerson on restarts to maintain second.
With three laps remaining, Panella looked inside Paul for the lead. The duo ran nearly side-by-side with Panella attempting to edge underneath Paul for the win in the final corner. Cameron Paul won the Non-Wing Turkey Bowl by a nose over Panella. Former multi-time track champion Brandon Carey of Ripon got past Torgerson for third with Lucas Mauldin rounding out the top-five finishers.
“Holy cow. Nikko, at this facility, if you beat him you know you did something right. We race hard but at the end of day, it’s competition. When you’re racing against guys like that, it makes it special,” Paul said.
Super 600 was a front row duel between 2025 track champion Nikko Panella of Stockton and Fresno’s Cody Key. Panella searched all over the Delta Speedway for a route to pass Key to no avail. Key claimed his first career Turkey Bowl for a $2,000 triumph followed by Panella, Colton Key, Australian Chad Bell, and Fresno’s Raio Salmon.
A-Class feature action started off with a bang when Laton’s Dash Duinkerken flipped wildly in turn three over the top of Keaton Martella. A nearly identical flip transpired on the restart when Aniyah Scott of Brentwood went over in the third turn.
Manteca’s TK O’Brien won the Knockout race to start on the pole and led the first 20 circuits. Mauldin then pounced to his inside to take the lead on the backstretch. Lucas Mauldin won the fifth career Turkey Bowl for the Mauldin family, worth $3,000. Glendale, Arizona’s Austin Torgerson then drove up into second. O’Brien finished third followed by Colin Kirby and Washington’s Dominic Carter.
2025 Restricted champion Briggs Davis of Manteca also claimed his first career Turkey Bowl win, taking the 30-lap feature worth $750. Davis quickly overhauled the pole sitter Connor Penix of Clovis at the start of the feature. Davis navigated lapped traffic smoothly to accumulate a seven second advantage at the checkered flag. Davis’ wire-to-wire win was followed by Maya Mauldin of Rancho Murieta, Penix, Washington’s Ryan Cannon, and Brodie Copeland of Los Banos.
Lee Uzzell of Hanford, the 2025 Hoosier Tire California Speedweek champion, backed that performance up with a dominant run in the Jr. Sprints Turkey Bowl. 2025 track champion Easton Wright finished second followed by Samantha Dozier and Wyatt Holden.
