NIKKO PANELLA COMPLETES CLEAN SWEEP OF DUAL AT DELTA, TAKING FOUR FEATURE WINS

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (September 1, 2025) – Stockton’s Nikko Panella executed an unprecedented feat at Delta Speedway on Saturday and Sunday nights, winning all four of his features across the Super 600 and Non-Wing divisions in the Micro Sprint competition. Panella’s victories lift him to eight total triumphs in 2025 on the 1/7th mile dirt track in Stockton with just one championship points race remaining. Photo by Bob Messer

Panella’s Saturday night in Non-Wing was a clean sweep, first with topping qualifying over the 17 car field. Panella then split the heat race action with Rancho Murieta’s Lucas Mauldin. Panella started eighth in the feature. He methodically worked through the pack. Panella then stormed around the outside of Mauldin on the backstretch on lap 13 for the decisive pass for the race win. Fresno’s Mattix Salmon finished second with Mauldin settling for third.

In Sunday night Non-Wing competition, Mauldin answered back by leading qualifying before Panella and Salmon won the heat races. Panella again faced a fourth row starting position in the 30-lap feature. Panella narrowly avoided an accident involving second place Mattix Salmon and a lapped car, placing himself into the cat bird seat with ten laps to go.

Panella executed a similar maneuver as Saturday night, steering to the high side to sweep past Brody Rubio for victory. Rubio was second with Mauldin in third.

Saturday Super 600 action saw Colton Key leading qualifying before the brothers Nikko and Alex Panella won the heat races. Nikko Panella started on the pole for the 30-lap feature and never relinquished it, pacing KJ Snow and Key for the win. On Sunday, Snow was the quickest qualifier while Alex Panella and Salmon won the heat races. Nikko Panella drove from sixth on the grid in the 30-lap main event. He advanced past Key using the bottom side then edged towards Alex Panella. Nikko Panella completed the pass for the win on lap 25 with Alex Panella finishing second. Key finished third.

Landon Henry won his second consecutive A-Class victory to extend his points lead in the stock division on Saturday night after 25-laps of racing. Incoming second in points Kyle Fernandez finished second with Logan Reeves running third. Henry also claimed quick time in time trials. TK O’Brien broke through for a coveted win in Sunday’s A-Class action, winning the 25-lap feature from the pole position ahead of Cole Frerichs and Deegan Irey. Henry finished fifth.

Nixen Gabbard and Tyce Domingos scored in Restricted features during the Dual at Delta weekend. Domingos had a strong weekend of performances with fast-time and a heat race win on Saturday before Sunday’s victory. Gabbard, Jayden Ferneau, and Kourtney Baker were the podium finishers on opening night of the Dual. Sunday’s podium was led by Domingos over points leader Briggs Davis and Haven Sherman.

Lucas Fenn of Oakley swept the weekend’s Jr. Sprints 20-lap features, moving within four points of Easton Wright for the championship lead. Wright finished second in Saturday night’s 20-lap main event with Samantha Dozier running third. Fenn topped 2025 CA Speedweek champion Lee Uzzell and Dozier in Sunday’s race while Wright settled for sixth.
