DAVID MILLER WINS SHASTA SPEEDWAY SUPER LATE MODELS IN LATE RACE THRILLER

ANDERSON, Calif. (September 14, 2025) – Coquille, Oregon’s David Miller made an exciting maneuver with just three laps remaining to take Saturday’s 125-lap Super Late Model feature at Shasta Speedway. Three-time 2025 winner Derek Copeland of Anderson missed most of the weekend’s activities to replace an engine. He returned and promptly scored quick time in time trials over 14 Super Late Models competing. Copeland took the lead from Fort Bragg’s Lane Anderson on lap 25 after starting eighth.

Copeland was poised to score another $2,000 triumph before his car stumbled on lap 86 to require a pit stop. He was able to rejoin the race but surrendered the lead to Anderson as a result. Miller ran down Anderson in the final three laps to nab the victory, leading Anderson to settle for second. Stockton’s JoJo Stearns finished third while Justin Philpott of Tracy enjoyed a strong first start of the year in fourth. Copeland recovered to finish fifth.

Bobby Crowell won the 30-lap Bomber feature, inheriting the lead after a crash involving Scott MacLeod and Kyle Borden slowed the action on lap 27. Tim McLeod finished second with Will Brown in third.

Brian Mollath won his first Shasta feature of the 2025 season in the 25-lap Hornets main event. Travis Root, Colton Stankey, Peter Smith, and Titan Hills rounded out the top-five.

Deakon Kamisky celebrated on the top of his INEX Legend car after the teenager scored in the 20-lap feature. Kyle Borden finished second with Nico Caldeira in third.

The 2025 Shasta Speedway season concludes on October 4 with all four divisions competing. The Super Late Model, Bomber, and Hornet divisions all will enjoy single digit margins in the standings as the battles for the championship conclude.
