MADERA, CALIFORNIA (June 17, 2025) – One of the most coveted victories of the 2025 season at Madera Speedway will be on the line this Saturday night when the Rev. Ron Spencer Red, White, and Blue Classic hits the track. Honoring the late track chaplain of Madera Speedway, racing on tap includes the Mission Pro Late Model Series, 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, INEX Legends, NCMA Sprint Cars, Pro Sportsman, INEX Bandoleros, and Legends of Kearney Bowl. Adult tickets are just $20, seniors and military are $15, youth ages 6-12 are $10 and kids five and under are free. All tickets will be sold at the track ticket booth. Opening Ceremonies are at 6:00pm Race fans can “Join” www.YouTube.com/ShortTrackTV for $19.99 per month for a members-only live stream as well.
Jay Juleson of San Jose leads the Mission Pro Late Models championship into Saturday’s round five. Juleson has scored three consecutive podium finishes but is still searching for his first victory of the year. Matt Erickson of La Grange is in hot pursuit of the points lead, overcoming an opening night disqualification to move within 27 points of Juleson with three consecutive victories.
Veteran Rick Thompson of Fresno is having a great season with two top-five finishes and is third in the championship. Jason Aguirre of Atwater is fourth followed by 2024 Madera Late Model champion Trevor Schlundt in fifth. Saturday’s field includes expected returns for Pro Late Model champions Kyle Keller and Austin Herzog, along with 2024 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series participant Hayden Stepps and two entries from Naake Motorsports.
Saturday’s Rev. Ron Spencer race is an 80-lap feature with a 50-lap opening segment followed by a 30-lap run to the finish.
The 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series for drivers ages 10-16 years old experienced a breakthrough moment on May 31 when James Hamlin became the first Oregon winner in series history and seized the points lead as well. Hamlin leads Santa Rosa’s Eli Black by ten points.
Skyler Schoppe of Clovis, Washington’s Hunter Gates, and Ramona’s Bristol Borneman round out the top-five. Las Vegas’ Kellen Keller and Hayden Stepps of Oakdale are expected in action on Saturday as well. A 70-lap race across two segments awaits for the youngest stock car drivers in the west.
Multi-time USAC Sprint Car champion Tony Hunt of Fair Oaks has made the most of his career return, winning with the NCMA Sprints at Madera on April 12 and leading them into this weekend’s action. Dan Gonderman, David Dias, Jerry Kobza, and David Burchett are the balance of the top-five drivers. The wingless Sprint Car series will hit the fastest one-third mile in the west with a 30-lap feature.
INEX Legends return after a break of competition with Bakersfield’s Eddie Garone leading Lillie Cook of Mariposa and Logan Chambers of Bakersfield in the standings. INEX Legends will compete in a 30-lap event. Madera’s Joseph Holiday has three wins in the Pro Sportsman division and leads Steve Schermerhorn by 18 markers in the standings. Brian Taylor, Joseph Reichmuth, and Kaden Toland are the balance of the top-five heading into Saturday’s 30-lap feature.
An exhibition race for the Legends of Kearney Bowl and a race for the INEX Bandoleros are also planned as part of a busy and exciting Rev. Ron Spencer Red, White, and Blue Classic!
Saturday pit gates open at 1pm with the drivers meeting at 2:00pm. Practice begins at 2:30pm. Qualifying hits the track at 4:15pm followed by heat races. Opening ceremonies are at approx. 6pm with all main events to follow.
