LATE MODEL AND MODIFIED THUNDER AT MADERA SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (May 28, 2025) – Madera Speedway hosts the Silver & Gold Modified Series as part of an exciting round four of the RACER Network-televised 2025 season on May 31st. The Madera Pro Late Model Series powered by Mission Foods competes in an 80-lap feature along with racing for the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, Pro Sportsman, Legends of Kearney Bowl, and INEX Bandoleros roaring around the fastest one-third mile in the west. Adult tickets are just $20, seniors and military are $15, youth ages 6-12 are $10 and kids five and under are free. All tickets will be sold at the track ticket booth. Opening Ceremonies are at 6:00pm Race fans can “Join” www.YouTube.com/ShortTrackTV for $19.99 per month for a members-only live stream as well.
The Silver & Gold Modified Series combines the best in the west with three races each at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Madera Speedway in 2025. Action kicked off on Easter Weekend with a 16-car field and Las Vegas’ Sam Jacks topping 2024 Open Wheel Showdown winner Aaron McMorran for the $2,000 winning prize. Sam’s brother Kyle finished third.
A pack of Las Vegas standouts with square off with Rocky Mountain drivers such as Utah’s Jeff Longman and Eric Rhead, along with California standouts such as Scott Winters, Sammy Nuno, Kevin Vossen, and Calvin Hegje in a 75-lap feature. The Silver & Gold Series will race again at Madera Speedway on July 19 and August 16, before returning to Las Vegas on September 13 and for the Open Wheel Showdown on November 8. LandMark Irrigation is offering a $2,500 hard charger prize in honor of George Stjerne, split across each of the three Madera Speedway Silver & Gold Series rounds as well.
Round four of the Madera Pro Late Model Series powered by Mission Foods sees San Jose’s Jay Juleson standing tall with a strong 24-point advantage. Juleson will look for his first win of the year in an 80-lap contest, split across an opening 50-lap segment and a 30-lap run to the finish. Jason Aguirre has two top-five finishes and runs second, followed by back-to-back race winner Matt Erickson of La Grange in third. 2024 Madera Late Model champion Trevor Schlundt and Rick Thompson rounds out the top-five in the championship.
The 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series battle among drivers ages 10-16 years old is the most hotly contested at Madera, with just seven points separating the top-three drivers. Santa Rosa’s Eli Black, age 12, has raced for the cycle with finishes of first, second, and third to open the year. Oregon City, Oregon’s James Hamlin has two podium finishes in his rookie season and is just two points behind in the standings. Round two winner Skyler Schoppe of Clovis third, seven points behind. Washington’s Hunter Gates and Ramona’s Bristol Borneman are in pursuit in fourth and fifth. A 70-lap race across two segments awaits for the youngest stock car drivers in the west.
Madera’s Joseph Holiday is the top driver in the Pro Sportsman championship battle, using two wins and second place finish to lead Steve Schermerhorn by 14-points. Joseph Reichmuth, Brian Taylor, and Drew Ries round out the top-five.
The youngest drivers at Madera Speedway compete in the INEX Bandoleros with several new faces expected to join Saturday’s races. History hits the track with the Legends of Kearney Bowl as well.
Saturday pit gates open at 1pm with the drivers meeting at 2:30pm. Practice begins at 3pm. The front gates open at 4:00pm followed by qualifying and heat races. Opening ceremonies are at approx. 6pm with all six main events to follow.
