An 18-race slate awaits, including the season being bookended by races at Ventura Raceway on March 16 and October 26. Ventura has served as one of the “home tracks” of Western Midget Racing since its inception and will play host to four rounds of the series. The other seaside home for WMR is Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif. where the mighty Midgets will hit the dirt on seven occasions including the prestigious Howard Kaeding Classic on July 12 and 13.

WMR will also stage two stops each at Bakersfield Speedway, Marysville Raceway, and Petaluma Speedway. Antioch Speedway hosts the series on July 27 for a single date as well. Divisions such as the NARC 410 Sprint Cars, SCCT 360 Sprint Cars, Ocean 360 Sprint Cars, USCS Sprint Cars, and BCRA Midgets will be sharing the card at most WMR events in 2024.

The 2023 season was topped by Oakley teenager Bryant Bell, earning car owner Tony Boscacci his third consecutive WMR championship. The 2020 season did not crown a championship with a shortened COVID19 season. The inaugural 2019 season saw split championships at Ocean and Ventura with David Prickett and Randi Pankratz winning the two titles.

Surprise, Ariz.’s Drake Edwards led a competitive 2023 season with six points paying wins. Bell won five times in his championship season while his two-time championship winning teammate Blake Bower of Brentwood scored on four occasions. Santa Cruz’ Logan Mitchell finished second in the points in his second full-time campaign, missing out on the crown by just four markers. Linley, New York’s Darin Horton won the Rookie of the Year and finished third, followed by Lodi’s Nate Wait and Bower.
