NASCIMENTO MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES 2023 ARCA MENARDS SERIES WEST PLANS

MANTECA, CALIFORNIA (March 7, 2023) – Nascimento Motorsports has announced plans to field two full-time entries in the 2023 ARCA Menards Series West. Brothers Ethan Nascimento, 15, and Eric “Bubba” Nascimento, 21, will share driving duties for the team. Seats are available with the team for select races in 2023 as well.

Ethan Nascimento arrives in the ARCA Menards Series after claiming four wins en route to the 2022 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series championship at Madera Speedway. He ran double duty in the Madera Pro Late Models as well and finished fourth in that championship as a rookie. The MAVTV-televised series has been the breeding ground for nearly a dozen drivers who have competed in ARCA and levels above. Ethan Nascimento also competed in INEX Legends races across the country in 2022 and finished eighth in the $10,000-to-win Short Track Shootout for Pro Late Models in October. He opened the 2023 season running the SRL Southwest Tour All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway.

“I’m excited to go ARCA racing with my brother and my family,” Ethan Nascimento said. I’m pumped to work with crew chiefs Ty Joiner and Mike Nascimento. My goals are to hopefully get some top-fives and top-tens. Irwindale helped prepare me for bigger tracks such as Phoenix this weekend.”

His older brother Eric is also a graduate of the Jr. Late Model ranks and has since scored wins in the Stockton Late Models and the Madera Pro Late Models. His seven Stockton wins in 2021 led to the track championship. He has logged eight career ARCA starts with a top-five finish at Colorado in 2021 as part of his three total career top-tens. He is also a veteran of 14 SRL Southwest Tour starts, earning a top-five at Stockton in 2021. He capped his 2022 season with a MAVTV Pro Late Model win in August and a top-five in the Short Track Shootout at Madera Speedway.

“This is the car we ran last year at Phoenix and it had good speed,” Eric Nascimento said. “We rebuilt everything on the car and have been digging in the shop, four to five hours a day. Phoenix is an opportunity to showcase our talents and show that we are meant to be there.”

The No. 4 Toyota was shared by Colombian Sebastian Arias, Southern California driver Sean Hingorani, and Eric Nascimento in 2022, earning two top-ten finishes and ninth in the owner’s championship. The team’s No. 04 entry also scored a top-ten finish.

Sponsors for Nascimento Motorsports include Impact Transportation, RJ’s Paint Shop, Fidelity Capital, Joiner Motorsports, SkipCo Welding & Industrial Supply, Co., Panella Racing Engines, Custom Equipment Painting, and Performance Signs & Graphics. Ty Joiner and Mike Nascimento will serve as Crew Chiefs for the efforts.

The 2023 ARCA Menards Series West campaign opens this Friday at Phoenix Raceway in a combination event with the ARCA Menards Series. Racing action will be televised live on FS2 at 5 p.m. Pacific. Race fans can also listen to the race on Motor Racing Network.
