SUPER CUP STOCK CAR SERIES RETURNING TO SHENANDOAH SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY

SHENANDOAH, VIRGINIA (August 19, 2019) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series returns to Shenandoah Speedway for the second time in 2019 on Saturday night for Twin 50 lap races. The highly anticipated event comes on the heels of the successful Veterans Classic in June, which brought the high-powered machines to the 3/8th mile for the first time since 2013.

A strong turnout of 20 entries put on a memorable show, using every inch of asphalt to jockey for position. US Marine veteran Jon Kernley won his first career Super Cup feature while Kevin Kromer won his third race of the season in the nightcap.

Ron Langdon of Freeport, NY heads into Shenandoah with the points lead after his first career victory at Midvale Speedway in Midvale, OH on August 10th. He leads Pennsylvania’s Kromer by just 12 points in the championship with Tennessee’s Mike Potter and Pennsylvania drivers Lauren Butler and Bill Ashton rounding out the top-five in the standings. Approximately 18 cars are expected for the return visit with half a dozen states represented.

They will be joined by the weekly racing season finales at the track for the Legends, U-Cars, Sportsman, and Late Models.

Race fans in the region have the opportunity to see equipment used in the higher levels of NASCAR, Pro Cup, and ARCA competition in the intimate setting of Shenandoah Speedway underneath the Shenandoah National Park.

Adult tickets are just $15 for this action-packed night of national caliber racing. Pit gates open at noon on Saturday followed by practice and qualifying. Grandstands open at 4pm with racing at 6pm.

Shenandoah Speedway is located at 301 Precision Rd. Shenandoah, Virginia. 22849
