SPECIALS FOR YOUNG RACE FANS DURING DUAL AT DELTA THIS WEEKEND

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (August 28, 2019) – Delta Speedway presented by Financial Center Credit Union will offer race fans and race teams two complete nights of points racing with the fourth annual Dual at Delta on Saturday and Sunday. The new tradition at the 1/7th mile dirt track sets the stage for the end of summer and celebrates Labor Day weekend. Each night’s competition is highlighted by $500 to win features for Super 600 and Non-Wing and guaranteed $300 to win for Restricted and $200 to win for Jr. Sprints. The double dip routinely attracts drivers from outside of the region to test their mettle against California’s best Micro Sprint racers.

Delta’s youngest race fans are invited to join the action all weekend long with special activities planned. All kids ages 12 and under are admitted free of charge. With the kids back in school, the speedway will reward them with a great weekend of special giveaways and prizes just for them!

The path to the $1000 to win track championships goes through the Dual. Only two points races will remain after the Dual, a fact critical for the red-hot Restricted battle. Madera’s Logan Trevino is just 10 points clear of Jade Avedisian, who has nine victories across the western United States this season.

Elk Grove’s Devon Courtnier had a strong start with three wins earlier in the season and is just 12 points outside of first place. Dixon Speedway points leader Jeffrey Pahule, Jr. continues to search for his first Delta win of 2019 from fourth n the standings with Brandon Riviera rounding out the top-five. Roseville’s James Andrichuk won his first career feature on August 3rd to move up to seventh overall. The Restricted drivers compete for 25 laps in each night’s features.

Stockton’s Caden Sarale continues to lead both the Super 600 and Non Wing divisions. Sarale has also dipped his toes in the Sprint Car world and nearly won the feature at Marysville on Saturday night. He returns to his hometown playground enjoying a 55-point advantage in Super 600 over Raisin City’s Mitchel Moles.

Moles is approaching an unprecedented 30 wins in 2019 in the Micro Sprint world and would like to accomplish that feat during the Dual. 2014 champion Travis Labat has advanced to third ahead of 2018 champion Nikko Panella, the most recent main event winner. Raio Salmon ranks fifth over rookie charger Dylan Bloomfield.

In Non Wing, Sarale’s advantage is a slight 38 points over 2016 champion Brandon Carey of Ripon. Chad Laughton of Turlock has continued a consistent campaign from third ahead of former track champs Dan Mognaga and Tj Smith. Both the Super 600 and Non Wing main events will be 30 laps each night.

Lucas Mauldin has won five times in car #55 during his outstanding Jr. Sprints season. Consistency from Kyle Ferndandez has kept things interesting as the points margin is still only 42 markers. Colton Key ranks third ahead of AJ Hintz and TK O’Brien. The youngest drivers at Delta Speedway will race for 20 laps each night.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m. each night with the drivers meeting at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps begin shortly after with qualifying and racing to follow. Pit passes are just $20 each night with no membership required. Racers and race fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy some great Royce Farms BBQ at the races.
