TRI STATE PRO STOCKS ANNOUNCE DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND IN AUGUST

KLAMATH FALLS, OR. (July 17, 2020) – The rapidly expanding Tri State Pro Stock Challenge will host likely its biggest weekend yet, announcing a doubleheader for August 29th and 30th. Pro Stocks will race $1000 to win each night with Saturday’s action at Antioch Speedway and Sunday night’s racing at Petaluma Speedway.

The visit to the 3/8ths mile Petaluma Speedway at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds will be the first time for Tri State Pro Stocks, racing against the speedway’s Super Stock division.

Jay Bryant of Jay’s Mobile Welding in Sacramento and Lyle Hopper of Winning Attitude Motorsports in Paradise have been instrumental in making these events possible. Joe Carr Racing Chassis will present the Sunday event at Petaluma as well. The Tri State Pro Stocks allows a variety of different groups to compete and attracts routinely the best drivers from as far south as Bakersfield, as far north as Oregon, and several drivers from Northern Nevada.

The second-year series allows drivers to use their local rulebook when competing, which has drawn outstanding car counts. The series enjoyed its first ever B Main event last Saturday night, when 24 Pro Stocks competed at Antioch Speedway. Three-time Petaluma champion Mitch Machado won his second Antioch Tri State feature of the year, worth $1,000, ahead of Wayne Coffman and Silver Dollar Speedway champion Matt Micheli. Machado also topped a 24-car field back on June 6th as well.

Coalinga’s Ryan Smith won the series’ visit to Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville on June 27th, while the two early season events at Stockton Dirt Track were claimed by Fallon, Nevada’s Jesse Gonzalez. The Stockton races started fields of 16 and 20 in the main events, giving the series a 20 car average so far through five events in 2020.

Machado figures to be a heavy threat to win at Petaluma considering his resume at the adobe clay oval. Later this year, Petaluma Speedway will allow Tri State rules competitors during their special event on September 26th as well.

Tri State Pro Stocks also has announced a $2000 to win, $200 to start race on October 31st at Antioch Speedway as well. The event will take place on Halloween Night with IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, and Wingless Sprint Cars also competing.
