TY AND CASH LOVENBURG DOUBLE UP WITH ACTION AT DIXON SPEEDWAY

VISALIA, CALIFORNIA (May 26, 2020) – Lovenburg Racing competed at Dixon Speedway over Memorial Day weekend with points races on both Saturday and Sunday. Competing against a turnout of over 100 cars each night, Ty and Cash Lovenburg gained experience as they prepare for the bulk of their 2020 season this summer with Ty earning a top-five and Cash earning a pair of top-tens.

Ty Lovenburg improved every time he hit the track in Saturday’s Jr. Sprints competition. After qualifying eleventh, he finished fifth in heat race #1 to set up for the feature. Starting ninth in the 20-lap feature, he advanced through the pack to grab a top-five finish in the Big Boyz Garage sponsored entry.

His Sunday action started with seventh best in time trials but was bolstered by a victory in the heat race over Braxton Vasconcellos. Lovenburg then ran second in the dash race behind Vasconcellos, setting up for a front row starting position for the 20-lap weekend ending race. Lovenburg battled with Bakersfield’s Nathan Ward for third over much of the race in a great battle. The battle ended when Lovenburg unfortunately spun out in turn two to bring out the caution.

With only three laps to go, Ty Lovenburg managed to drive back to the eighth position at the checkered flag on a night where he surely had podium speed throughout the evening.

For older brother Cash Lovenburg in the Deans Appliance #21, he would do his bidding in the all black car in the Restricted division. Qualifying on Saturday night was a success as he timed in eighth quickest in a talented 21 car turnout. A fourth-place finish in the heat race placed Lovenburg 12th on the grid for the main event. Cash Lovenburg ran around the top-ten throughout the contest as he battled with Washington drivers Dominic Carter and Jayden Whitney. A tenth-place finish gave him a big head of steam heading into Sunday’s finale.

He opened Sunday’s action by qualifying tenth but had a pair of incidents in the heat race that forced him to record a DNF. The team worked on the set up on the UA Local 246 entry for the feature.

Lovenburg lined up 16th for the main event and was gathered up in an incident that saw his car end up on its side in turn two. Undeterred, the charge was on as he drove into the top-ten by lap eight and advanced up to ninth position. He held the ninth position throughout the race of the feature in a great sign of his tenacity behind the wheel.

Lovenburg Racing will return to action on June 13th at Lemoore Raceway. They wish to thank Grammie and Papa, Deans Appliance, UA Local 246, Big Boyz Garage Tires & Service, Chapala Grill, Sean M.
