SHOWTIME FOR THE HOOSIER TIRE CALIFORNIA SPEEDWEEK JUNE 25-29

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (June 19, 2019) – After months of anticipation, the 5th annual Hoosier Tire California Speedweek for Micro Sprints is finally set to roar to life, starting Tuesday June 25th at Dixon Speedway. The four races in five nights spectacular features 130 paid entries across Super 600, Non Wing, and Restricted. Drivers will travel to Delta Speedway on June 26, Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park on June 28, and Lemoore Raceway on June 29.

Along the way, drivers will race for $55,600 in cash plus numerous contingency prizes. Each of the 12 main events pay $1000 to win along with the coveted carved wooden bear trophies.

The field is headlined by 50 Super 600 entries from six different states plus Australia. Numerous major event victories are represented among the field. The rematch of 2018’s championship battle between Michael Faccinto and Jake Hagopian is also on deck. Their duel for the title last year was one of the most exciting in series history. Hagopian won the 2018 edition but will face a renewed challenge from Faccinto in 2019. 17 career Speedweek race wins are represented on the list including former Restricted champions Dylan Bloomfield and Nikko Panella and young standouts Jake Andreotti, Caden Sarale, and Keith Day, Jr.

Non Wing is led by its defending champion Tj Smith of Fresno, CA who leads the series in all statistical categories over its four years of competition. Smith leads the way with five feature victories, 139 feature laps led, and nearly $15,000 in prize money. 2019 has seen a huge performance from Raisin City’s Mitchel Moles who stands ready to challenge Smith. A host of other drivers on the 41 car entry list also figure to contend including Australian Liam Williams and the series’ first ever Ohio entry from Christopher Robinson. Three-time Speedweek feature winner Caden Sarale is fifth in laps led and tenth in money earned and looks to be a contender in both Super 600 and Non Wing. Ben Worth is another double duty driver with high expectations.

Restricted is wide-open with no former champions entered in the youngest division. One position remains available for registration in this group with 39 cars out of the 40 car maximum already filed. California’s four points leaders – Jeffrey Pahule, Jr., Logan Trevino, Gauge Garcia, and Jade Avedisian – each have never won a Speedweek main event but are on a collision course for next week. Arizona and Washington are among the states sending drivers to try to steal the bear trophies from the quartet along with a debut entry from New Zealand.

Pit gates open at noon each night with the drivers meeting at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps and qualifying follow at 4:30 p.m. with opening ceremonies at each event tentatively scheduled for 6:30 p.m. All competitors entering the pits need a $25 pit pass, Raceceiver radios, and transponders. Speedweek officials will have transponders available for rent for $40 for the week. The final three nights of competition will be available for a PPV live stream on FastFourMedia.com The cost is $20 per night or $55 for the week long pass.
