DELTA SPEEDWAY CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (October 3, 2018) – Delta Speedway presented by Financial Center Credit Union will crown its $1000 track champions on Saturday night during points race #14 at the 1/7th mile dirt oval in Stockton, CA. All four divisions of Micro Sprints will also be staging their season finales for the coveted King of California as well.

Both of the full-sized winged classes at Delta Speedway – Super 600 and Restricted – have remarkably close battles for their championships.

In Super 600, young Nikko Panella leads Raio Salmon by just 12 points heading into the finale. Panella has one win this year on September 2nd but has also added an additional four podium finishes. Salmon is searching for her first Delta Speedway title and her resume includes three wins at Delta Speedway and three wins at Lemoore Raceway as well for a strong six win season.

The 12 point margin does not factor in a drop of each driver’s lowest score, which likely will close the points even tighter by the final tally. 30 laps of action is on tap with $500 to the winner. Salmon is also in second in the King of California standings behind Joey Ancona. With events on both Friday night at Dixon Speedway and Saturday at Delta, she has an outside chance at playing spoiler in that series too.

Restricted’s top-two drivers are separated by just 14 points with Caeden Steele ahead of Caeden Stoll. They had to settle for fourth and fifth place finishes in the last race on September 15th. Stoll has two wins, a second, and a third this year with an average finish of fourth. Steele has four wins and an average finish of 4.5. Restricted has a 25 lap feature scheduled for $300 to win where one of these drivers will stand tall at the end.

Dylan Bloomfield’s four wins have him third in the standings ahead of Devon Courtnier and Ashlyn Rodriguez. Corey Day enjoys a comfortable advantage in the King of California standings heading into the weekend as well.

Tyler “TJ” Smith is trying to wrap up a sweep of Lemoore Raceway, Plaza Park Raceway, California Speedweek, King of California, and Delta Speedway in the always exciting Non Wing division. Five wins and four seconds at Delta have him solidly in the lead ahead of Caden Sarale, Dan Mognaga, Brent Brooks, and Angelina Dempsey in the points. Non Wing races for 30 laps and $500 to win.

Dalton Parreira’s six wins have allowed him to stretch out his Jr. Sprints points lead to a nearly insurmountable amount. He enjoys a 47 point advantage over Austin Wood, followed by Caleb Debem, Selena Little, and TK O’Brien. 20 laps for $200 to win is on tap for this division on Saturday. Wood leads Parreira and Jett Barnes in a very tight battle for the King of California, however.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. drivers meeting. Hot laps, qualifying, and racing action follow.

Pit passes are just $20 each day with no membership required. Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, seniors 55+ and military, with kids 5 and under free!

Race fans are invited to come early and stay late for great Royce Farms BBQ at the track concession stand in turn four.
