SUMMER SIZZLER BRINGS RACING TO THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY FAIR FRIDAY & SATURDAY

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (June 12, 2018) – The 3rd annual Summer Sizzler at Stockton’s Delta Speedway hits the 1/7th mile dirt oval on both Friday and Saturday nights, presented by Financial Center Credit Union.  The Micro Sprint races will be held during the adjacent San Joaquin County Fair, headlined by $500 to win features for Super 600 and Non Wing each night.  Restricted and Jr. Sprints will also be staging complete points shows each night as well.

The weekend bill of two complete race nights makes the Sizzler an important one for championship battles and also as the final tune-up before the prestigious 4th annual California Speedweek June 26-30.

Super 600 will be the division to watch as opportunities will be plentiful for newcomers to carry the torch.  Points leader Keith Day, Jr. and 2017 champion Jake Andreotti are both competing in the $10,000 High Banks Hustle in Illinois, swinging the door wide-open.  Second in points Raio Salmon won the Saturday night portion of the 2017 Summer Sizzler with brothers Alex and Nikko Panella rounding out the top-five in the points.

Non Wing points leader Tyler “TJ” smith topped a 48 car turnout to win on May 19th, and leads 2015 Restricted champion Caden Sarale by 21 markers.  Blake McGourty has emerged third in the standings ahead of Adam Kaeding and Brent Brooks.  2013 Super 600 track champion Dalton Hill is just seven points outside of fifth as well.

Both the Super 600 and Non Wing divisions race 30 lap features at Delta Speedway.

Hanford’s Caden Stoll was the most recent winner in the Restricted class, racing for a guaranteed $300 each night.  Stoll’s back-to-back wins have propelled him into the points lead over 2017 runner-up Caeden Steele and 2017 Tulsa Shootout winner Corey Day.  Devon Courtnier of Elk Grove has moved up to fourth in the championship followed by Jr. Sprint champion Dylan Bloomfield.  Napa’s Brody Petrie is just one point outside the top-five as well.

Dalton Parreira finished third on May 19th which was enough to preserve the points lead in the Jr. Sprint division.  The youngest drivers at Delta Speedway have had a very closely wound field with Elk Grove’s Austin Wood only ten points behind in second.  Prunedale’s Caleb Debem May 19th win has him up to third in the points over six year-old Jett Barnes who also has a win this year.  TK O’Brien is searching for a victory from fifth in the points.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m. each night of the Sizzler.  Friday’s activities start an hour later with driver’s meeting at 5:30 p.m. and hot laps and qualifying to follow.  On Saturday, the normal times will apply with a 4:30 p.m. drivers meeting.

Pit passes are just $20 each day with no membership required. Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, seniors 55+ and military, with kids 5 and under free!  Race fans are reminded that parking will be $7 with the fair underway, but each Delta Speedway attendee will receive half-off fair admission.

Race fans are invited to come early and stay late for great Royce Farms BBQ at the track concession stand in turn four.
